29th June 2026 – Whaddon Parish Designated as Neighbourhood Area

Whaddon Parish Council Neighbourhood Area Application
21st May 2026 – Decision Announced at Whaddon’s Annual Parish Meeting
The announcement was made at the Annual Parish Meeting on 21st May that the decision had been made to proceed with a Neighbourhood Plan for Whaddon along with the key reasons to taking this important step. The audience had many questions and comments, and while some concerns were expressed, the decision was met with substantial support from the community.
9th April 2026 – Whaddon Parish Councillors Voted to Make a Neighbourhood Plan
At its meeting on 9th April 2026 Councillors voted unanimously to go ahead with a Neighbourhood Plan (NHP) for Whaddon. Up until recently, it had not been considered value for money for Whaddon, nor did it justify the huge amount of work needed. However, over time things have evolved, and the current planning landscape makes a NHP something Whaddon must have to help achieve the best outcomes for residents both now and in the future.
