Located on Stock Lane near the junction with Vicarage Rd, this repurposed bus stop is for everyone to use freely. Feel free to post your pictures and poems on the walls and personalise the space.
Please: Keep things tidy, keep the floor space clear of trip hazards, and check the poster for items that are not suitable for deposit, such as food, electrical and big stuff.

Recreation Ground

Whaddon Recreation Ground is a popular recreation ground with play equipment for all ages, a football pitch, adult fitness equipment, a baseball area and comfortable bench seating.
The Recreation Ground was extensively upgraded in November 2015, by the Parish Council, following a £55,000 grant from WREN, a not-for-profit organisation which awards grants to community, environmental and heritage projects across the UK from funds donated to the Landfill Communities Fund.
The grant has been used to install an imaginative play area for all ages, with equipment from swings, seesaw and an adventure playground, to an outdoor three-person multi-gym, which includes a cross trainer, step- and rowing machine for the over 13s. For the less active, new bench seating has also been installed. The recreation ground also has a football pitch open for use.
In April 2025 additional equipment was added by the Parish Council to cater for younger users, with the help of a generous grant from Buckinghamshire C0uncil Community Board and from Elmer’s Charity who provided additional bench seating.
In the interest of health and safety, dogs are not permitted to be taken onto the recreation ground (sorry), nor are glass items like bottles, or any form of motorised vehicle including e-scooters.

Allotments

Whaddon has a thriving community of allotment-eers, tending around 20 plots of various sizes. Anyone from a newbie to the experienced gardener is welcome. A water supply is available. Prices start around £6 per plot per year.

Elmer’s Charity
Back in 1653 William Elmer, a resident of this area died, and by his will he founded a Charity for ‘Educational Purposes’ in favour of the Ancient Parishes of Beachampton, Maids Moreton, Whaddon, Calverton and Nash.
This Charity still exists today with the original fund worth in the order of £25,000. After the proper costs and expenses of running the Charity, the income from the investment (the investment itself cannot be touched), is used to promote the education of those between 18 and 25 years. The fund provides financial assistance for clothing, tools, instruments or books to assist such persons to pursue their education (including music and other arts), to undertake travel in furtherance thereof, or to prepare for or enter a profession, trade, occupation or service on leaving school, university or other educational establishment.
