EWR have announced plans to build a Train Maintenance Depot just south of Whaddon.
Located south of Chase Farm, in the parishes of Newton Longville and Mursley, this depot is expected to operate 24/7 and employ around 100 staff undertaking maintenance including heavy engineering on both electric and diesel trains.
Buckinghamshire Council and many others are objecting to these plans. While there are benefits arising from this project, concerns for Whaddon might be yet more traffic on the A421, and possibly noise and light pollution, amongst other things.
Whaddon Residents are invited to a public meeting on Friday, 6th March, 7pm, (doors open from 6.45pm) at Longueville Hall, Hammond Park, Whaddon Rd, MK17 0AT for a presentation from EWR. A Q&A session is on the agenda.
