On Friday the Government announced Cancellation of Funding for Neighbourhood Plans.
Neighbourhood Plans are considered to be an important part of enabling communities to make their opinions known in planning decisions.
Whaddon does not currently have a Neighbourhood Plan, but interest and support has been expressed by some residents in developing one.
Neighbourhood Plans are an important part of the Localism (2011) Act giving communities a real say in where and how development happens.
Developing a Neighbourhood Plan is hard work and securing professional help to support the process can be expensive. So developing a plan will be very much harder, especially for smaller councils like Whaddon, without funding.
If you support retaining funding for Neighbourhood Plans, please take a moment to sign the petition below. Feel free to share with others if you feel it is appropriate.
Kind regards
WPC Clerk & RFO
